Charitable and Philanthropic Work

Deravia & Co. Gives Back

Several years ago, Debi faced a watershed moment when she survived a ruptured brain aneurysm, which, by all medical accounts, should have killed her. While she had always been someone who cherished the gift of life, this near-death moment caused her to reaffirm her love of life and her desire to share all that she is and all that she has with others whether that be her business acumen or raising stroke awareness.

As she holds family time sacred so, too, does she her philanthropy work. She owes her life and is thankful and blessed for the skilled hands of her neurosurgeons Dr. Cameron McDougall with Johns Hopkins and Dr. Karam Moon with Arizona Neurosurgery & Spine Specialists, P. C. Debi is also a faithful supporter of The Joe Niekro Foundation , which is a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness for the research and treatment of brain aneurysms.

How Does Deravia Help?

Through several media outlets, including a Cox YurView *Your Health* segment, Debi had the opportunity to share her miraculous story of survival. In 2019, she became an ambassador for the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley and appeared on NBC Sports Radio Phoenix with Brian Kreps to promote their annual fundraising event, Dancing for Dignity. In addition, Debi was proud to be asked to co-host the event with Lin Sue Cooney, one of the most well-known and well-loved TV news anchors in the state of Arizona for over 30 years. More than 700 people attended the Mardi-Gras themed masquerade ball which was held on November 2, 2019. Dancing with Dignity’s popularity has grown over the years, raising over $1 million to benefit stroke survivors, trauma or brain tumor survivors and people with Parkinson’s or other neurological disorders.
Dignity Health Foundation East Valley offers many opportunities to express compassion and kindness through philanthropy. To discover how you can help, please visit Dignity Health Foundation East Valley Dancing with Dignity .
